SCI, SCIE

SCI는 전세계의 과학관련 journal 중, 중요한 3,500여종의 journal을 색인한 것으로, 특정 article, book, patent등이
얼마나 많이 인용되었는지, 또 어떤 다른 article에 인용되었는지 서지사항까지 정확히 알 수 있습니다. SCI는 6가지
즉 인쇄물형태, CD-ROM, CD-ROM with Abstracts, Magnetic Tape, Web Access, Online 형태로 제작됩니다. 이중
Magnetic Tape으로 제작되는 SCI Expanded는 3,500여종의 학술지에 2,100여종이 추가된 것이며, Online으로 접근
가능한 것을 Sci Search라고 하여 이것은 3,500여종에 1,900여종의 학술지가 추가된 것입니다.

JCR

JCR은 Science Edition과 Social Science Edition이 있는데, Science Edition에는 약 4,700여종의 선도적인 과학학술지를
색인해 놓고 있다. JCR은 특정학술지가 얼마나 자주 인용되고 있는지, 어떤 학술지들이 그 특정학술지를 인용하고 있는지, 그
학술지가 출판된 후 얼마나 빨리, 그리고 오랫동안 인용되고 있는지, 특정학술지에 인용되는 학술지에는 어떤 것들이 있는지에
대해 알 수 있도록 한 것이다. 즉 SCI가 특정논문에 대한 인용상황을 알 수 있는 반면, JCR은 특정학술지의 권위도를 알 수 있다.
